What is high potential and gifted education?

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students who demonstrate advanced abilities or the capacity to develop high levels of achievement over time.

In our classroom

HPGE is embedded through high-quality explicit teaching, differentiated learning, scaffolded challenge and individual learning goals. Teachers recognise and respond to emerging strengths, providing extension and enrichment within everyday classroom practice.

Across our school

Students are supported through targeted programs, mentoring, project-based learning, leadership opportunities, vocational pathways and creative or practical learning experiences. Wellbeing supports and trauma-informed practice ensure students can safely engage in challenge and experience success.

Across NSW

Opportunities beyond the school are considered on an individual basis, considering student readiness, engagement, and wellbeing. Where direct participation is not appropriate, the principles and intent of broader HPGE opportunities are reflected through school-based learning experiences.
